Any way to add "Choices" to an object's attribute at runtime

I have an attribute that may have 3 choices to offer a user or 5 options as dropdown for user. The number of those choices are determined at run time and not at design time.
I don't want to create another object to create a db table and use query to show for dropdown.

Is there a way that I can create that list of choices at runtime in the rule section, like
Object.Choices='Open', 'close'
Another option I have to create all the choices at design time, but I can't filter the static choices.

Any thoughts or solutions?

Ben,

If the control is to show 5 options as a dropdown..... what control are you using for the 3 choice option?
You can apply a filter in the control at runtime to basically limit to whatever you want.

Please clarify.

The attribute is "Visibility".
As I mentioned, I use a dropdown box. Depending on the loggedInUser type. If "Customer" I want to show
Open
Private
If LoogedInuser is Trainer, I want to show
Public
Shared

Basically I want to create the list of choices at runtime instead of design time, regardless of what control I use to show it. The important thing is that, Visibility should only have certain choices in it's list at different times of the program.

I would create a BO with Access Level and ChoiceOption that can be populated at runtime....

Trainer Shared
Trainer Public
Customer Open
Customer Private

Then where you want to use.... select as dynamic list with custom query LoggedInUser.AccessLevel = 'Trainer' or LoggedInUser.AccessLevel = 'Customer'

If you read my first post, I said, I'm trying to avoid building a DB table via another object for this simple case.
