Default Start Date Issue

Hello,

I have a simple form to enter a date range.
The start date and end date get updated with the current date. User can change the dates if they want.
When I call the process to find records within the date range the Start Date is not the same date entered.
I have turned off all my rules for this attribute and it still is showing 8/31/2015 as the start date.
See attached screen shots.
Default dates set at runtime with ENTER NEW BONAME WITH bo.startdate=CURRENT_DATE etc...

I pass in the BO but the start date is not the same date

Any idea how or why this is happening????

Roger, what if you manually enter an starting date of 08/25/2015, will it show in the process 08/22/2015? Or you only see this with default settings?
And are these two attributes "Date" types or "Timestamp" types?

The dates are Type Date Format of MM/dd/yyyy
If I leave the date blanks and enter a date the start date still goes to 8/31/2015.

I even create a query so I could view the record and edit it. It does not change the date and always stays at 8/31/2015

Are you saying, even if you go to the database and try to manually edit that column with an editor, it still goes back to 8/31/2015 when you try to save the record?

No not the database itself but a query within AwareIM and then Edit the records both dates would go back to the default dates.

I think I found the issue. I turned off the rules but the rules were still being executed so how. So I deleted the rule that sets the default date for the end date. Then ran the query clicked edit and changed the date and it accepted it this time.

I have a set of rules to set the start date to the current monday's date and the end date to the current date.
Maybe in the Rules on the BO i need to added an if statement so they only execute if the start date and end date are undefined. or just move these rules in to the process so they only get executed when the process runs just before the ENTER NEW for the BO.

That's what I trying to get at with my questions. Because it seemed it was related to rules. Glad you found it.

So I added "AND bo,attributename IS UNDEFINED" to my rules.
How should the rule be set as far the options: Use rule during initialization or Determine automatically?

Solved!
Adding the "AND BO.Attribute IS UNDEFINED" to each of the rules resolved the issue.
Learning something new everyday about rules!
