Any ideas how to solve -

Hi,

So we were starting to re-vamp a BSV - and came across a show stopper; If anyone has any ideas - We will invest and solve it.

Usecase;

1) We have Rich Text / HTML attributes which are for logically for Formatting and Layout of text. (Bold, Bullet Points etc)
2) When we create any type or "report" Document - its contaminated with HTML tags -

We must maintain the formatting on Output -

If anyone has solved this, or know of ANY means to solve it please PM me - We will pay to solve this

Hi Rick, ( just guessing but you sound like someone that might be called Rick 😉

I have done a similar thing - I think from your explanation.

I have a list of records that the user defines and can re-order
any way they want. But in the report I want these records
displayed as a bullet point list.

So, I build an html list using the <ul> and <li> tags stuffed into a single
Text attribute.

When I print it on a report, it prints as a great bullet pointed list in the
correct order as the user wanted.

I am not near a computer today but if that is the sort of thing you are talking about
give it a crack and if you can't make it work I will try and send you the how to tomorrow.

Today I wish I was anyone but myself (even Rick for that matter)

So you mean to say:

You have a solution which allows us to use HTML - Rich Text fields in AIM
Allow the users of the BSV to format the text however they feel.

And in our Document (we can use that HTML Text) as output it will be formatted as it looks in the attribute field?

Tell me how much and where I need to send the cash! <<

I'm interested in seeing what you guys have in mind but note that what Rick wants is to display the rich text in the report. AFAIK, it just doesn't do it. If your solution is to strip it out, not much value there.

I explained to them offline today that HTML attributes can retain their formatting & not be contaminated with HTML tags by creating a Document of the HTML Document type.

When presenting HTML attributes in that document, you need to refer to them using this syntax:
<<Customer.HTML_Stuff>>

Rather than the syntax you would use in a Word document:
<<Customer.HTML_Stuff>>
