change the font for the whole application

mrbdrm

Hi
has anyone done this without building the whole theme in sencha? i tried adding css file with this continent :

@font-face {
    font-family: GE;
    src: url('fonts/GE.otf');
}
.x-body {
    font-family: GE;
    font-size: 15px;
    color: #333;
}

after the theme css file in startup.html but it seems that awareim already got a custom css file in place.

Mrbdrm,
Yeah, I have done a lot of custom CSS and also done things like changed font for an app. You can do this in a number of ways:

create a new custom theme
customize the theme directly
add custom css in a css file and add it to startup.html
add custom css in a css file and add it to one of the Aware css files referenced to in startup.html
etc.

You basically have full control. I usually create a custom theme for an app and then do all my changes in the files of my new theme. By custom theme I mean, take an existing theme and duplicate theme (css files). I never do a full Sencha custom theme.

I'm adding the custom css file in startup.html after the theme css and awareim css

Mrbdrm,
It isn´t as easy as that unfortunately. Aware IM (or rather extjs) applications use LOADS of different CSS classes and you have to change/override them all (independently) if you want to change the font of a full application. Take a look at the theme file (s) for a particular theme and there you will see all of the CSS classes you have to change/override. Another note, some components like calendar, scheduler etc. etc. also have separate/independent CSS files you also need to change/override if you need to change for example font for a full application.

A quickfix but not something I recommend is using an * override class i.e. without a class name:

{ font-family: MyFont; }

If you need a custom theme, I do offer consulting services where I do this. If interested send an email to: info@awareim-consulting.com .
