v5.9 theme vs v6.0

hi all,

wanted to ask if anyone has tried to do this and could explain how to do it.

a) Used an original v5.9 theme in v6.0? which uses the original Tree Menu?
b) Decrease the font size?

or has anyone tried to build a complete new theme?

We raised a similar issue a little while ago here#77415. It was important to us as tree menu's form a central part of our app and the look of these in v6 is a huge change.

What I can tell you is this:

V5.9 themes are not compatible with V6.0
Support made a change to v6 which adds a setting to use 'old tree menu' NOTE: We have not tested this yet as we have had to delay our move to v6 for theme related issues.
It is possible to make minor changes to your theme by changing the CSS. One of the presentations at the conference related to this and I know some of the Aware users may be able to help with this. Changing the font size is an option.

We tested the "legacy" tree-menu but it never looks like the v5.9 style -

Also we are starting to search for a Sencha consultant who could modify / create a new theme based on our clients preferences.

The challenge is always - While there exists great functionality the customer often only sees UI and well that becomes a stopping point in projects when the UI cannot match the needs.

If anyone knows of a Great Theme designer/developer please advise.

I would recommend you use a custom theme instead of trying to get a 5.9 theme working on 6.0. I shared some comments in the post Martyn pointed to about the reasons why.

Regarding custom themes etc. for Aware IM applications. I have done several custom themes and UI work and entails all from basic theme changes like changing theme colors, changing parts of themes, to more advanced things like full blown custom themes using integrations with other UI frameworks, to UI/UX stuff like integrating Googles new "Material Design" principles.

I do provide UI consulting for Aware IM developers and can basically do whatever you want in terms of UI. I also provide UX consulting focusing primarily on Material Design (i.e. rework application UI and UX to fully (95%) follow Material Design principles). I can also help you with custom html/css/js modules like for example a custom tree menu if interested.
