Protect Word document after merge

Is there a way to protect a Word Document after it has been merged with data from BO attributes, so that the recipient can't alter it.

We want to start sending our trial lesson vouchers out via email but it will be no good if the recipient can change 1 flight to 2 flights etc.

Failing that, is there a way to convert a word doc to PDF (under program control) prior to attaching it to the email.

I use the X version (command line) of this tool.

Not cheap but it does a great job.

Can combine pretty much whatever you want and output a single PDF file.

Allows you to encrypt and set any sort of permissions you like on the resultant PDF.

Does this work from within AIM? My scenario is this.

Admin sells a trial lesson and enters the details in the system Admin clicks a "send Voucher" button

a) Process gets a UserDefDoc "Voucher" (A WORD doc) and inserts it into an attribute of document type - TL.Voucher (this as you know does the merge)
b) Process gets a pre-defined covering email and attaches the merged document in TL.Voucher before sending it to the client

So I need something that can transparently make the document Read only somewhere between step a) and step b) without the user knowing anything about the process

On the Word document itself you can set protection or make it fill-in form. So long as the tags remain editable, this can be a viable option. Sounds like that's the part you need to restrict though...

When you say within AIM what do you mean by within?

The program is just an .exe that is called from within AIM.

In my app I create a folder named the same as the LoggedInRegularUser login.
I export a report and a whole pile of receipts to the folder. Receipts can be pdf or scan images

I then call PDFCombineProX which gathers the entire lot and produces a PDF file of it all.
I then import that back into the DB and delete the folder.

User see nothing except the completed report presented on the screen.

Rocketman may not be clear that PDFCombine is a command line utility and can be executed with the Execute Program command in AIM.
