tford wroteYes I read the posts. My point was that most users are comfortable using Paypal. Many users do not want to enter in their credit card information, myself included unless its Amazon or Paypal. I bypass sites that don't offer Paypal. So I think PayPal is a better option from a users point of view. My thought was if AIM can developed for Stripe, I thought it could be done for Paypal as well. Mark
I had some communication a couple of days ago with Vladimir about integrating PayPal's IPN funcationality (https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/products/instant-payment-notification/ into AwareIM and he agreed to add it to the TODO list. We also had a brief conversation about cost of moving it up in the TODO list & he said it it was "a big job, unfortunately. The costs are likely to be around $1,800". We didn't get to the point of discussing timing, whether it would be a plug-in or baked into PayPal, and whether a sample BSV and documentation is included.
Right now, IPN has been added to the TODO list.
Tom, IPN is useless and doesn't really solve the problem of Classic Payment, just puts a bandage on it. The best way to it, is the original thread I opened up (https://forum.awareim.com/d/7770>), which is the PP REST service, their current payment system, Similar to Stripe plugin, but it's backed by PP. So, if you want to spend the money and do it right, do the PP REST Service. No sense of throwing good money at old technology (classic payment), and who knows how much longer will be around.
Just my two cents.
