Here is the scenario that most would be familiar with...
I have my AwareIM Production Server
I have renamed my 'AwareIM' folder to 'app'
this required changes to
C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\app\WEB-INF\web.xml
C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\app\aware_ext\aware.js
C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\app\aware_ext\aware_full.js
C:\AwareIM\bin\UIConfig.props
Also I have my own Custom Folder in C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\app\ which contains all my custom
css, html, js, images etc
Additionally I have some changes to my Tomcat server.xml file for my domain and ssl.
Plus I have my website C:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\mydomain\ website files.
Now here is the crunch...
Each time I update Aware, I need to go through and manually edit / replace etc all these changes which takes my app down for some period of time.
It was suggested at the Conference by on of the attendees that you could use subversion to automate the task of updating the new Aware Update with all the changes that you have made.
I am playing around with Tortoise to try and understand how to make that work and getting into a bit of a mess.
Can anyone provide some ideas of how they go about resolving this issue, what they use and how they implement please.
