I know that if you save photos using the Document Type you can use the file system functionality there, but then you lose some of the nice Image Related Functions Such as displaying Thumbnails or opening the Picture when Clicking.
We are building some Pretty image intensive apps now and it would BE VERY hand to be able to Create a File System for Images as well (Like you did with Documents) so that these images don't have to be stored as Blobs in the DB, as these tend to be slower and Makes DB tables grow pretty large Very quickly.
Hope this is something that can be considered for future releases.
