Basic problem: When accessing a specific app locally, such as during development, and via localhost, all is well. However, when accessing the server remotely via the IP address, the appearance of the menu is very different and vertically oversized. Trying a few things, I find that using the application locally from the server as a client, but referencing the server via its IP address also causes this problem. This is new for me as of AwareIM v6 (both Builds 2017 and 2028-)
Using Dev Edition, Build 2028, I simply open a Chrome browser on the VPS Server hosting our AwareIM application and start the session with one of 2 URL strings:
1) localhost:8080/AwareIM/logonOp.aw
At the login dialog, I log in with user Admin, and I see a well-formed menu, where the vertical size of each menu item seems correct for the content, not too small and not too large.
2) using the IP address of the server instead of localhost, this being the only difference from the first experiment (again this is the same box and even the same browser session as above, and the same machine running the browser, and the outcome is not affected by the order of the trials)
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/AwareIM/logonOp.aw
Again at the login dialog, I log in with user Admin, and this time see a very deformed menu where the vertical size of each entry is about 3 times what I saw with the localhost example. The expansion "twisties" are now at a 45 degree angle pointing down and right instead of simply to the right.
Goal - resolve this issue so the menu is normal when run from remote sessions.
I have screen shots showing how different the look is of the menus in these 2 cases if anyone would like them.
Thanks
