In all the years of programming whether solo or with team or reviewing code, one thing that I always see and follow, is to keep names (variables, tables, properties, attributes and etc.) as short and meaningful as possible.
One may argue, long names are descriptive, maybe so for short time, but long or short names can turn into becoming frustrating, especially for someone new getting into project.
My humble suggestion is to keep them short and sweet and meaningful. I spend a good time when creating my attributes to give them proper name. Those attributes are like your Children...
Hope this helps!
