►Q◄ How do you test your app on Mobile during Development?

BenHayat

Hi;
I need to start working on the Mobile part now. So my question is, how do you run/test your app that is on your local machine from a Smart phone or Tablet during development and testing without publishing it on some hosting company?

Thanks!

Hi,

I have started with mobile now...but I have this issue:

When I click on this link:
http:// <myipaddress>:8080/AwareIM/logonAdminM.html

nothing happens.(like there is no link under login button)...

Does anyone had this issue?

I have customised the AwareIM folder, but changed the name in c:\AwareIM\Tomcat\webapps\SmartAPPS\aware_ext_mobile\aware.js also....
Any help, would be much appreciated
thank you

tford

You can also use Chrome on a desktop for some aspects of mobile testing.

You can try it by seeing the CRM sample app in action at:
http://www.awareim.com/crm/

Just adjust the size of your Chrome browser & you'll get some idea of what it will look like on a phone.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for replying.
The problem is not with resizing window browser . when I access the mobile link ...../logonAdminM.html, the login form appears, but when clicking on "login" button nothing happens.

In the case of the mobile CRM app, the URL becomes:

http://test.awareim.com/AwareIM/logonOp.aw?domain=CRM&userName=john&password=john&testingMode=false&mobile=true&mobile_platform=Phone

Of course, in your case testing should be true.

Hi Tom,

I think is something else here, because I have published the BSV and same behaviour.
The mobile login appears, but when clicking on "Login" button nothing happens. Also, in AwareIM server output and Tomcat no message is displayed when doing this, like the server is not sensing that a user is hitting the login button.
i have 2 licenses on 2 different servers:

Windows 2008 server R2, MySQL, build 2030 - runtime AWIM - same behaviour.
Windows 2012 server, MySQL,build 2030 - developer license - same behaviour.

Something I'm missing here 🙁....
My mobile experience is beginning with left foot... 🙁

George, just a thought.
Have you purchased the "Mobile" License? And if yes, is your Mobile License activated? Check with Support.

Hi Ben,

Of course. I have purchased mobile licenses for both systems and yes I have activated with the new keys.

thx.

You might try loading one of the sample apps provided by AwareIM & try their mobile login.

Hi Tom,

Tried that also...🙁

thnak you,

BenHayat

George, check with Support to make sure they have included Mobile into your license. It could be a mistake on their part that your license doesn't have Mobile development/testing turned on.
Be sure to share your findings here, once you find the problem.

You were right Tom.
Also Vlad confirmed that Firefox is not suitable for testing mobile version on desktops.

In Chrome all is working fine...

Thanks all..

Firefox browser was used to test mobile. You can only use "webkit-enabled" desktop browsers, such as Google Chrome to test mobile on the desktop.
