►Q◄ How do you delete an image that is already srored in DB?

Hi Guys;

I have two Picture attributes. One is the Customer Profile picture and the second one is a calculated thumbnail, which gets created every time I put an image in the Profile.

But now, if I delete the Profile picture (there is a button from Aware that allows user to delete the image), my question is how do I delete the thumbnail?

I wrote a rule that says:
If Customer.Photo WAS CHANGED and Customer.Photo IS UNDEFINED THEN Customer.Thumbnail=UNDEFINED

But nothing happens. What's the proper way to do so?

I think I would go with...

If Customer.Photo IS UNDEFINED THEN Customer.Thumbnail=''

If Customer.Photo IS UNDEFINED THEN Customer.Thumbnail=Customer.Photo

I tried the Customer.Thumbnail='' and produced runtime error, I guess because Picture isn't a simple type like Text.

If Customer.Photo IS UNDEFINED THEN Customer.Thumbnail=Customer.Photo

That doesn't work either.

In case anyone interested in this thread, this is a confirmed bug.

I would have expected your first way to work Ben.

Try just setting Customer.Thumbnail = UNDEFINED using a process first.

If that works then the issue is in the logic.

So, try
If Customer.Photo-UNDEFINED Then Customer.Thumbnail=UNDEFINED

If that works then the issue is in the WAS CHANGED part...... The Rule is not recognising the CHANGE

All were tried and finally after tracing it and sending a custom BSV to support, it's verified as a bug, and will be fixed.
