I'm experimenting with separating the Tomcat and AwareIM servers. I have two VMs setup. One has a full AIM stack with MySQL and the other is just AwareIM. According to the user guide, I can point the Tomcat server to another DNS by alter the WebServer= parameter in UIConfig.props. Easy enough, but I need a bigger picture here. It seems to me that the application is accessed from the Tomcat server right off. So I figure when you access the app, you do so from the remote Tomcat server. So how does it know where things are? Anyway, if you have successfully done this, I would appreciate some guidance. So far, I don't have it.
