Wish List - Reduce / Extend Search Pop Up Display

I might be missing something here so forgive me if there is a way to achieve what I want. I think someone has posted about this before but I can't find the thread.

When you define a query that has lots of hidden initially attributes (20 or more) and a user clicks the 'Reduce / Extend Search' icon in the top corner of the grid a pop up appears that is very large because it contains both the attributes initially displayed and those that are initially hidden. This means that the popup is larger in height than the screen and makes it unusable, even worse, the only way out from that point is to close the browser and log in again.
Also, the attributes displayed in the popup are all squeezed over to the left side and the label column width is very small resulting in multi-line labels.

So my wish is this:
I would like an option for the Reduce / Extend search popup to only contain the attributes that are displayed in the grid and/or someway to control the presentation of the popup.

Would love to hear any ideas / thoughts on this one....

1 - This would be VERY handy. Also whenever you have a date field, the reduce search should ask for 2 dates so that the dater returned can be any dates in between and including the From and To date selected.
