Maximum size upload

Hi,

I have an attribute of the type 'Document'. An user can upload anything there.

Two questions:

can I determine what files can be uploaded only? (e.g. .PDF, .DOC only)
can I limit the maximum size of the document somewhere?

Any other options to prevent the upload of wrong files or to big files?

Hi,

You can use FILE_EXTENSION, FILE_SIZE in rules of the BO.

IF FILE_SIZE(BO.document)>1024000 (this is 1MB)
Then REPORT ERROR 'Maximum File size allowed is 500kb'

I do this for documents but for pictures I check file size and do a resize for the user using SCALE_IMAGE. This keeps the sizes down but still allows the user to upload all files. I have several ranges and associated resizing percentages. For my app quality still good and pictures display a lot quicker.
