Best process to swap a peer object

If I have a client object which has a consultant object linked to it, what is the best way to do a mass transferal? Case in point, Consultant leaves, now all Clients linked to that Consultant need to move to a new Consultant. How could I achieve this?

Don't have any idea about your data structure, but in the end you need to FIND all the instances and have a process rule that replaces the old Consultant info with the new Consultant info.

The Client is owned by the Consultant.

So am I looking at a FIND Client WHERE Client.Consultant.ID='5127' REPLACE WITH Client.Consultant.ID='6224'

or something of that ilk? Sorry to bother you guys with such basic questions :/

Instead of a 1 off solution, I would set it up so you can easily select and run a "Change consultant" process any time without uploading a new BSV.

Something like this might work:
1- Create a form to store two attributes:
a- RegularUser.Consultant_Old
b- RegularUser.Consultant_New

2- Update #1 with the proper Consultant info

3- Run process with this rule:
FIND Client WHERE Client.Consultant=LoggedInRegularUser.Consultant_Old
Client.Consultant=LoggedInRegularUser.Consultant_New

I THINK this should do it.

Of course, before running something like this on a live database, I would first do a backup. I would also be sure to try it on a test system first.

OK, I'll do that for the future but for right now, how could I convert?

On the Client object through Admin view you can select a new Consultant using the default add or add new system. I need to figure out how to use that add function for the entire list of clients for one consultant.
