Rolling Query Display

I have line items of various objects (Forecast, Quote, etc) that I'd like to display on a dash.

My problem is this: say I want to display only the LineItems for an Issue. We do 11 issues a year, combining Dec/Jan into 1 month. So it's not just a question of pulling the current date and comparing against date on line items.

I'm assuming something like If CURRENT_DATE=xx/02/xxxx Then FIND QuoteLineItem WHERE QuoteLineItem.Date = 02/xxxx ?

So, if they log in to the dashboard in March, they need to see the LineItems for April. Not sure what I need to pull in that kind of data.

Further on this, I need a way to display the queries within one block.

So it would be a block called Target with Quotes, Bookings, Forecasts inside.

Possible?

Sure, have a look at this. This is within my client tab and is basically what I'm looking for.

So basically, consultant logs in. What they need to see is the current issues bookings/quotes/etc (all line items). But we work one month ahead, so in Feb they see March etc. Also, as mentioned in Dec/Jan they would see Feb as we work off 11 issues.

I really struggle with time-related queries in terms of DATE_PART and all of that.

You can store dates in either LoggedInSystemUser attribute or SystemSettings attribute that are used by the queries. This gives you lots of flexibility to use rules to determine the dates that you store. The dates can then be updated with a scheduled process that runs daily.
