Process error

Hi guys, this is a repost of an error I had a year ago which has flared up again.

I'm running a process that transforms a Quote into a Booking but when i try now it gives me an internal error.

I'm not sure where the error lies here.

I've narrowed it down to the section starting "CREATE BookingLineItem FOR EACH..." but I'm not sure why it's failing. Should this be split into seperate processes or something? Not just one process doing everything? I am pulling my hair out here as I'm sure it was working back when I first created it, although I haven't used it since then. Error log says the process failed, which is not super useful.

Yes, I would break it into multiple processes.

With a history of doing structured programming (COBOL a LONG time ago), I normally break tasks like this into multiple processes even when not required by AwareIM syntax. I find it's a bit easier follow the logic & to problem solve.

OK, so I played around with it and if I break it in half so that the second process is:

Then it creates a booking but with no BookingLineItems. Am I missing something? Like a FIND Booking or something?

I don't know if your lineitems are the same (same attributes) but if they are, you can use the DUPLICATE action in your convert process. I use it for this exact thing (Quote > Invoice).

PS: If the lineitems arent 100% you can still use DUPLICATE but you may want to exclude particular attributes (see DUPLICATE action documentation) or mirror particular attributes (and not necessarily use them).

Henrik, yeah, most of the attributes are the same. I had a look at the DUPLICATE function and they say it's for duplicating an instance of an object, they don't specify how to duplicate into another object.

Here is my convert process rules for your reference if you don´t get it working with your current setup:

CREATE Invoice WITH Invoice.Notes=ThisEstimate.Notes,Invoice.NotesPrivate=ThisEstimate.NotesPrivate
DUPLICATE ThisEstimate.Items TO Invoice.Items

Not 100% aware of how your processes are set up but you just have to make sure the Quote instance is in the context (i.e. you do not have to FIND line items).

OK, just had meeting with boss and he said "Why don't we just change the Quote status to Booked?"
