Track newly added clients

OK, so I know this is a simple one, but I can't fathom it. I need to be able to run a query every day showing which Clients (or any other objects) were created that day. Would I need to add a timestamp or something similar?

Sure...

Put a CreateDate attribute on the client object.
Make a create rule to set the CreateDate value to CURRENT_DATE on create.
Make a process that runs at a certain time each day to query for Client.CreateDate=CURRENT_DATE

If you want to check to the day before, I believe it would be:

Client.CreateDate=DATE_ADD(CURRENT_DATE,-1)

Could you not just set the initial value to CURRENT_DATE instead of adding another rule?
