Changes in External Database

Just wondering if anyone has done much accessing external database files from Aware?

If so, can anyone suggest a way to have Aware know if a record in the external database has been added/deleted/modified?

I can access the external data, no problem. But want to maintain a mirror BO in Aware so need to know when anything changes externally.

Hi Mark,

I have been doing a lot of this reading / updating external database.

I don't think Aware has the functionality to 'monitor' external database. It is very limited to 'read/write/delete'.

quick solution might be to create a trigger on the external table wherein if it gets created, the Mirror BO gets the update as well. This is still being tested so I am not 100% sure if it will work or not.

Hi Chris,

Some way to capture a Trigger was the first thing that sprung to mind but I have no idea how to do it.

Please let me know if you find a method that works. It would be a big help.
