This should be simple but I am not getting it.
I have an 'Order header'. The first field on the form is the 'Customer'. When I select the customer (reference att), I need to display and update the customer address in the Order Header. This address can be overridden so it can't be a shortcut.
What I did was create a rule and make it dynamic.
if orderheader.customer was changed
Find customer where customer. customerid=orderheader.customerid
orderheader.address=customer.address
orderheader.country=customer.county
etc.
I know it goes to the rule and executes but nothing comes back. Maybe its not finding the customer? Becasue if I change orderheader.address='xxxxxxxxx', as soon as I change the customer it populates the field with 'xxxxxxxx'.
I just did a test to confirm and that must be it. It must not be finding the customer. Am I doing this wrong? Does this have to be a process instead of rule?
This has to be pretty basic. Select something, pull information from another file and update fields and display fields on the current form.
Thanks as I am going around in circles, but the good thing is I re-read the manuals 5 times, and found the dynamic option is the how to manual.
Thanks in advance for the help.
