Word Processing Engine

RentProperty

Hi Guys/Support

We are moving to a new Server Platform and have now discovered that our export documents to .doc does not work. I get a message saying that Document Engine for template is not installed. Now I figure this is because the server where the app is running does not have MS Word installed. However, these are quite expensive and Ideally I won't want to buy a MS Word licence just to populate Word docs? Is there any alternatives?

I've already tried installing Apache Open Office... Didn't work.
I Also tried the official MS Word Viewer, but that also didn't work.

Has anybody ever managed to find a more affordable solution for this?

Support... Is Apache open Office something you will support for generating doc and docx files in the future?

Thnx Guys.

I actually use an old Office XP that I have lying around. Useless for Office apps but does this job just fine. You can probably by an old copy from someone or they would give it to you. From a licensing standpoint, it should be a full, non-OEM version.

Ok cool, Thnx Kingsley. Just wondering though, It it's on the Amazon Cloud Environment, I will have to download an exact version as the one with the CD. So that might be a bit difficult, but will see what's available on the net. Thnx

My point is that if you have an old non-OEM MS Office CD lying around, just use that.
