Calling an Aware REST service from an email

Not sure if I am barking up the wrong tree here so any advice would be appreciated.

I am trying to call an Aware REST service from an email.

I have the url in the html email on a button. No problem.
I can click it and the REST service gets hit and the associated process gets fired. No problem
The associate BO instance for the link parameters gets created and populated. No problem.

So far so good.

But I cannot work out how to stop it opening a web browser and displaying this page?

Are you sure your process is completing successfully?

Also, if you do not want your service to return anything to the user, do you have "No Reply" selected for your service?

Hi Bob,

Thanx Bob.

Had another look and changed the Action in the Process to something innocuous and have fixed the error message.

However, it still opens a browser with an empty page.

I really want to be able to instantly close the page or if that is not possible, display a page advising the persons action has been recognised.
If I use any sort on DISPLAY action...like..... DISPLAY URL I cent an error page again.

You cannot prevent the system from opening a browser if you provide an HTML link to the REST service. A REST service is supposed to be called programmatically, anyway, not from an HTML link.

One option for you is instead of providing a direct link to the REST service URL you can provide an empty link with a Javascript that will use AJAX to call the REST service. This approach will not open the browser but you need to know how to write Javascript with AJAX.
