CSS Help with Left Menu

RentProperty

Hi there,

I was hoping that someone might be able to guide me in the right direction. I am designing an application of which the user interface is a very important aspect, so there is Lot's of custom CSS and HTML panels, buttons, etc.

However I am having plenty of trouble getting the left panel container's background switched off so that the background won't be white but rather much the background of my other panels.

Thus far I have been able to determine (using the Inspect element function) that the attribute that i need to clear is:

So in essence I want to slightly modify the theme I am using.

I am using the Accent theme. Can someone maybe tell me WHERE to find that attribute as I've searched for hours but to no avail.

Any help will be appreciated. 🙂

Thnx

Hein

Hi Hein,
The background of the left panel can be change through the VP settings. I have done if before but did not go that way afterall so don´t have the configuration anymore. I THINK you just add the CSS property you want to change in the VP/Left/Fram settings/Background/CSS for example: background:#000; . Either there or in some of the other VP CSS fields.

If this doesn´t work afterall, the theme you are using might be overriding the VP settings. To find out which CSS file, CSS class and property to change, do what you have done i.e use the developer tools and figure out A) the name of the CSS file which has the class/property you want to change B) the name of the CSS class where the background you need to change C) the property in the CSS class so you know what to change in the CSS file.

Hi Hein, are you running the latest v5.9?

thnx hpl,

I'll continue searching. haha, there are so many classes within classes within classes. Its hard to find the exact one which is causing the background to be white instead of the background i select in the Background CSS option.

What's strange is... Sometimes it works, and then suddenly it will stop working. Don't know why.

Hi rennur, no haven't upgraded to 5.9 yet. I don't really like the VP builder interface of 5.9 so I'm sticking with 5.8 for a bit longer.

why? is there a known issue perhaps with 5.8?

Thx for the responses.

Kind Regards

Hein
