Email From LoggedInSystemUser.Email

I have read many posts but am having issues making the email work with the LoggedInSystemUser.Email so it shows the users email address. I am using the outgoing email settings for each user Business Object. I have deault channel selected, it is set to Active. We are using our outgoing email host so we have it set at mail.xxxx.com, in the 'From' Address we inputted <<LoggedInSystemUser.Email>>, Outgoing port 25, then we select the authentication details and use our email address and password.

This seems like it would work to select the user and send the email from the users email address but nothing comes through. Can someone help please?

Can we assume this is a typing error as it should be LoggedInSystemUser.EmailAddress.

EmailAddress should have been created automatically when you set the BO as intelligent and defind the email channel.

I suggest to look in AWIM server output in the moment when you try to send a message.. You will see what happens there.

Yes I am using EmailAddress Rocketman. However with even doing this it still wasn't working.

OK. I have tried many different locations to put in <<LoggedInSystemUser.EmailAddress>> and it has not allowed the system to select the logged in user email address as the "From" Address. I tried inside the Client Email Business Object. I have tried in the Notification being sent. I have tried in the Intelligent Object section for the User Business Object. Could someone please tell me where they inputted the <<LoggedInSystemUser.EmailAddress>> and had it work to send out emails with the users name or email address?

Weblike, this doesn´t work. If I use the fix discussed in this post I get error:
Send failed exception thrown Invalid Addresses
Next exception is com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException553 5.7.1 MYCUSTOMEMAIL@MYDOMAIN.COM: Sender address rejected: not owned by user MYSYSTEMEMAIL@MYDOMAIN.COM

I am using 1 email account (SYSTEMEMAIL) to try to send an email FROM another email account (MYCUSTOMEMAIL). I can change the name displayed in the FROM field but not the actual email address. Is it possible to change the email address as well? (so the email is sent from CUSTOMEMAIL)? In my head that would require the e.g. IMAP settings for the CUSTOMEMAIL account but after reading a couple of posts etc. I thought it would be possible ion some way anyways?

PS: If this isn´t possible, the "sent on behalf..." fix would work, anyone knows how to set that up?

Hi Henrik,

This works perfectly on my side..

Seems that your smtp server does not allow this.

The FROM name and also FROM email address can be custom.

You have to setup your Outgoing Emailettings in SystemSetings with valid credentials for your server.
Then in Notifications you can use any EmailAddress as you want also name. E.g. <<CustomName>> < <<CustomEmailAddress>> >
Be aware of blank spaces between < <<.....>> >

Hello again,
Strange and must be as your point out my SMTP server that´s causing the problem (not allowing this). Another thing that probably isn´t related? I am not using SystemSettings for SMTP settings but the BO directly i.e. I have the SMTP settings setup in the BO. Could this affect?

Yes that's the problem...

Try setting the Outgoing Email Seetings in SystemSettings and should work.

Weblike, still not working. It seems as though only some SMTP servers are able to do this since you can do it and I can´t with the exact same setup.
