Incoming HTML Email to Text

Hi Guys,

I'm busy exploring the incoming Email thing and Would really like to receive Incoming mails but in Text Only Format. I don't like all the images en crap that goes along with HTML as it makes my Interface looks cluttered.

Does anyone know how to Receive the Emails And then convert it to Text only (Without the hmtl Tags/Images) so that it can be stored in an email object with a 'Text' Body Attribute.

Any Help Will be much appreciated.

I am also interested in this question. What happens today when someone sends an html email and AwareIM picks it up?

Anyone using email a lot could possible shed some light on this and possible solutions?

the system will show the html version if available, otherwise you'll see the txt version. If you look at the IncomingEmail BO you will see those attributes.
If you want Text only you can try to delete the HTML attribute but I think that the system won't allow you...
What do you have against nice HTML emails ? We are in 2014, be modern 🙂

I havent tried it yet but it seems from your reply powerm that the html emails work after all and you can view them properly in the application. I will test some and i am working with this in the coming weeks.

Yes it works.....but I have a small warning here. If you use the Email BO in a report and export if as Pdf for printing purposes that Pdf will show the HTML code of the email message, which is not very nice to read.

Ok but too bad about the messed up html. Would be nice as Hein pointed out to strip the html somehow and only have text for these kinds of scenarios.

Powerm, interested in doing, do you know how ot can be achieved? Doesn't the html tags etc get transferred for example of I copy the content of a html attribute to a plain text attribute? Any tips om how to achieve this is apreciated. Thanks

This problem (strip html tags etc.) is partly solved (by adding custom htmleditor cleartags button). See link:
