Tables do not expand correctly

This is probably asked and answered but PHPBB's search is useless. When a table is placed on a form and one of the attributes is set to expandable, when there is just one item, the row does not expand to display the hidden attribute. When another row is added, it expands to reveal the hidden attribute, but the table itself does not expand appropriately to display it. There was a time way back when, that this worked just fine.

This is Chrome using Light Blue.
Anything I can do?

Perhaps to state this more succinctly, the grid section of the table does not expand to accommodate the additional display height needed. When there is just one item, the user can scroll, but it's not intuitive, and it's nearly useless. It seems that the table grid itself should expand to accommodate whatever needs to be displayed. My recollection is that it use to behave that way. I think it was 5.5 when a lot of this changed. Sigh...

Had this issue for a while now but never reported it. It also happens with the Blue Bay theme on Chrome and IE 11.

It seems there is a bug with the rowexpander plugin 'Ext.ux.RowExpander'.

This problem has been around for sometime now and it makes this feature dysfunctional. It surfaced in a new version update way back in time

I have requested support in the past to resolve this and they claim they are unable to resolve it - I don't know why, but a serious effort should be made to sort it out - setting the height of the grid to get around this problem is not an option !

The one thing I'm doing creating a buffer between the grid row and the paging toolbar.
This is done by inserting a css styled <div> tag in the 'Summary' for every grid display.

I just set the display height to 400 which was adequate for me. When the grid needs more space it generates a scroll bar which is okay when the grid is well populated and sized up, but otherwise, it's a poor implementation.
