Validate Login NOT on RegularUser BO

Hi,

AwareIM doesn't allow you to use an existing external table to be part of the SystemUser Group.

Now, I have a requirement where the Client wants to use their existing table that has the login name/password and other security rights to access the application.

Is this possible in AwareIM? Or do I need to create a process that will transfer the data from the external table to the RegularUser table?

I was able to come up with a way you could use your existing table to verify that a user is an authorized user. But it has some limitations and opens up some security issues. So, I think a better solution would be, as you surmised, create a process to transfer the data from your existing table to the RegularUser table.

You CANNOT add an object with an external persistence to the SystemUser group. This doesn't make any sense because the SystemUser group represents users whose user names and passwords Aware IM can manage. It cannot do this for the external tables.

I have an application that on a scheduled basis, the application reads all the records of an external table & checks to see if an associated record exists in a table in my BSV. If the record does not exist, it creates one. In essence, the records in the table in my BSV are cross reference records to the records in the external table.

While this is not your scenario exactly, perhaps you could do something similar in your BSV.
