Multiple Items One Per Line

I have a quantity area that allows users to enter the number of items they wish to purchase on their order. I would like to take that number and show only one item per line.

So if a client buys 10 items it will show on 10 individual lines.

My rule is:

If Order.Item.Quantity >1
AND Order Is NEW

Then Duplicate Order.Item.Product EXCEPT Quantity
REDUCE Order.Item.Quantity by 1

In my mind this should work but in the system it doesn't. It doesn't show any error but it also doesn't show any changes. I have this rule under the Order Business Object. I thought about doing a process but I wasn't sure that would make any difference.

Also has anyone tried to duplicate what is on the AWAREIM.com site (login for support ticket) with a login embedded or customer creation forms embedded into Joomla or Wordpress?

I adjusted the rule a little an now get -21 items on each product ordered.

So I tired:

If Order.Item.Quantity>1

Then Duplicate ThisOrder.Item EXCEPT Quantity
REDUCE Order.Item.Quantity By 1

Getting Closer but help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Bucobill,

I think there might be a bug in the duplicate action somewhere as when I'm using it it seems to be duplicating twice. This might explain why you are getting 21 lines instead of 11. I haven't had time yet but I'm going to do a test BSV and send over to support soon.

I have replicated what aware have done on thier site with regard to log in customer area. This is just a BSV that is displayed in an iframe. What do you need to know?

Ok I have never dealt with iframe but will look into it. Thank you on that part. Second on duplicate I have made copies but only manually. I am just looking for a multiple item order to display one item per line and equal to the original number ordered. So if you order 10 items you would have 10 lines of item with quantity of 1 per line. I know my code is close I think we are missing just one small part to make it work.

OK I see what it is doing but am unsure if we can make it work.

I am trying a process with the following rules
Rule 1) If Order.Item.Quantity>=2
Then DUPLICATE Order.Item EXCEPT Quantity

Rule 2) If Order.Item.Quantity>=2
Then REDUCE ThisOrder.Item.Quantity BY 1
Issues:
1.) It is not duplicating item to new line.
2.) It is reducing the number by one and is taking each individual line of items and reducing them by 1 even if they started with a quantity of 1.

So to get more insight lets say you have 6 lines of items on an order each with quantity of 1 and 1 line with Quantity of 3 you get a total of -63.

The way this comes to be is you reduce each by 1 and times the lines by 7 and you get -63 (-9 x -7). I don't see anywhere in this rule that states reduce each line by 1. Can someone make sense of this. I know I am close and all I want to do is take a multiple quantity order and display each item as 1 on however many lines needed to equal the quantity purchased while removing the original item or reducing it to one.

Solution: SORT OF

In a process I did

DUPLICATE Item EXCEPT Quantity
If Item WAS ADDED TO ThisOrder Then Item.Quantity=1
If Item.Quantity>=2 Then REDUCE Item.Quantity BY 1
UPDATE Item (NOT PART OF CODE - which is a Business Object)

I would still like this to find all items in the order that are greater than 2 in quantity and perform Process for Each. That would make this a one touch process and would be EXCELLENT!

Hopefully this assists others on the board.

If I have more than 1 item in a line we have a process allowing you to duplicate that item into individual lines based upon the quantity purchased. An issue has arisen where you have 5 items in quantity and when you hit duplicate and run the process with that single line selected you get 5 individual lines with the info in each single line. So 5 works great.
However, If you have 10 items you only get 8 lines of items.
100 item quantity gets you 88 lines
20 item quantity we get 19 lines.

It is very inconsistent? I don't know why. Here is the code we are using.

FIND Item WHERE EXISTS Item WHERE (Item.OrderNumber=Order.OrderNumber AND Item.Quantity>=2) IN BATCHES OF 1

DUPLICATE Item EXCEPT Quantity,TotalQuantity

IF Item WAS ADDED TO ThisOrder
Then ThisItem.Quantity=1

IF Item.Quantity>=2
Then REDUCE Item.Quantity BY 1

UPDATE Item

In doing this process you do have to select the item you want to have duplicated.

Hopefully I gave enough information for someone to see where the issue is.
