Is it possible to have a link in the main tab of the LEFT frame have it's output go to the main tab in the MAIN frame?

Rocketman - I've been trying a number of different ways to use the DISPLAY LAYOUT but without success.

I have a query in the LEFT panel. The results have links on them (from a view object operation). When the user clicks on the link I would like it to open in the MAIN panel.

I am struggling with how to make this happen with the DISPLAY LAYOUT action.
Any guideance on how the above can be accomplished?

I believe the library sample app has an example of displaying results of a LEFT panel query in the MAIN panel:

The Library app only uses the 'New Tab' feature which directs output to a new tab. I am looking to direct output to an existing tab. Is that possible?

Have you tried DISPLAY LAYOUT and have specific questions about how to use it?

Thanks Tom - yes I tried DISPLAY OUTPUT in the following way

In a process:
FIND ....
DISPLAY Layout Main FROM_VP Customer
VIEW ....

It does not direct the output to the panel I was aiming it at. The docs are light on how to actually use the DISPLAY Layout function.

Is the above write way to use DISPLAY Layout?

Did you manage to find a way or directing the output to custom tab? I have a similar problem where I want to VIEW/EDIT a BO and my process first opens up a layout in a tab and then the process should VIEW/EDIT the BO but I can´t seem to get it working not matter what I try.

I had missed a thing in my testing and/so now I have solved my problem. I don´t know if it helps you (don´t know fully what you´re trying to do). My problem/solution is this.

I have a query and I wanted to open up a form editing a BO instance in a new tab (without tab icon hence the custom solution). I did the following to achieve that:

Created a layout (VP tab) called "L".
Created a process ("P1") for my "DISPLAY LAYOUT L" action.
Created a process ("P2") for my edit action (used "VIEW BO").
Set edit operation (next to item operation) to start process "P1".
Configured layout "L" to command>start process "P2".

The context is carried through so the BO instance is opened up correctly.
