DB backup incl. BS/BSV etc.?

Hi all,
I am playing around with Navicat and trying to understand how to backup my DB. I see the ordinary backup where I can backup a DB (e.g. basdb), no problem. Is it possible though to backup the Aware IM BS/BSV "data" (e.g. BO´s, processes, rules etc.) someway from a DB tool like Navicat? If so, how is this done? If not, how are you handling this? (backup each BS/BSV e.g. before an upgrade etc.?)

I have just started using Mavicat for MySQL and i´m a newbie to the program and also to DB management, backup etc. For the users of Navicat, anyone want to share any tips, thoughts or ideas on how to work with the tool (or do´s and dont´s?)? Thanks in advance.

Use the Scheduler of Navicat to daily backup your BASDB or selected databases. It will backups the bsv's and BS's
every week or month make an mysql dump or your databases ( happens that Navicat backups are corrupt due to missing docs or big size attachments....)

Thanks for the tips Powerm. I didn´t realize the DB backup also backup up the BS´s etc.m that´s great. BIG thanks for the heads up on possible Navicat backup corruption.

Best tool for Monthly dumps is MySQL Workbench (a FREEBIE from the Oracle site). There's no scheduler but will give the option to do a full single file dump or a folder dump with each table in its own file (great for selective restores)

I recently did a full dump from production (MySQL 5.1.something) to Dev machine running MySQL 5.6, complete with database stored Docs, photos, you name it.

Very robust - shame about the lack of scheduler.

Rocketman, MySQL Workbench sounds interesting. Are there several products called MySQL workbench? When I installed MySQL on my server a tool called MySQL Workbench 5.2 CE was also installed, is this the same tool?
