Text Attribute that dynamically grows its height as you type

Sometimes Text attributes can take up unnecessary real estate on forms especially when you have many of them and they are related to a question and answer or chat type situation. Fixing the height and relying on a scroll bar also is not ideal.

If you had a Text attribute that has an option of lets say "auto height" starting out with 1 line or 2 line default and then grows in height when the user gets to the end of the line or hits enter to go to a new line, this would be ideal and make your forms look more elegant

Support have confirmed that it is possible to include this option on a Text attribute and are willing to do a custom dev

I am sure this has universal appeal. Any interested parties out their willing to pitch in to get this feature on board ?

On this issue.....

Often for a Text attribute the range of possible amount of text varies from a couple of words to War & Peace.

Would be nice to have a dynamically sizing attribute that only stores the size necessay. if 20 characters....then 20 characters in DB, or, if 520 characters are typed then it stores 520 character.

In my last environment this was possible.

with regards to your additional requirement it seems that you need to dynamically grow the width as well as height. I dont know if this would be possible. I will check, there may be an additional cost to this

Also, I am not understanding the part of "storing" 20 characters then 20
characters in the DB - the size of the attribute in the DB needs a max size anyway. - this feature would be for presentation purposes 0nly
