I have an issue which is NOT an Aware issue per se So I was just wondering if I could pick the brains of anyone with experience of long distance wi-fi.
My Application runs fine in every aspect, The server is cloud based and access is via an internet broadband connection. People (members can access from their homes or offices (whether hard wired or wi-fi) without problems.
At our airfield however, the wi-fi link back to our main broadband access point/modem is stretched to the limit using directional aerials (800 metres to the edge of our airfield. Indeed the topology of our field is such that we have to use a repeater to "bend" the signal around some trees and buildings.
The issue is that every so often (maybe 3-4 times a day, we'll get a spinning ball and an "Executing" message and sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes before we can regain control. Mostly we just close down the browser and restart the app and everything is fine and the last action is recorded when we get back in.
I suspect we might be losing some return packets So I'm wondering whether there are any settings I can tweak - either in my wi-fi units setup or in a system file somewhere (basdbprops?) - something like an acknowledge timeout that I can extend.
As I don't really know what I'm talking about here - any helpful advice would be appreciated
