SSL per ip or domain?

Hi all,
Thinking about SSL and how it works. Is the SSL (https) connected to the server ip or an external domainname? If I have 1 server with 2 applications and 2 different domainnames pointing to two different login pages on my server, how would that look/be configured?

Think you would need a multi-domain cert. go daddy has them for like $90/year

Is it possible to setup 1 SSL on either the server IP directly (if possible) or a domainname connected to the server IP and then use a domain name alias "on top off" the SSL IP/domainname?

http://www.mysite.com >> https://myserver.com

When using an domainname alias, the visitor would only see the mysite.com domainname (all the time, even when logged on to the application) but the user is in fact browsing the SSL protected myserver.com "adress". Would this be possible and if so, would the user still get a visual verification that the user is browsing a secure site/adress?
