Running a report for a certain time

If I have Consultants who make Calls (which are owned by Clients), how would I log the amount of Calls made between two times daily?

Basically, I need to display the Consultant name and the number of calls made between 9 and 10am daily.

A number of ways:

Quick and dirty - create a query for calls between two times ( I assume the call start time is a timestamp attribute so you would need to build the two timestamps so, find calls where calls.start between timestamp a and timestamp b

Use the group facility when defining the query, group by consultant. That should put the total in the group in the group header.

If you are calculating and holding call durations, you can put a SUM(calls.duration) in the summary section

Look at the TIMESTAMP function in the help section

How could I set it to ask at runtime? So you input a start time, end time and date?

In my Call object, Call.TimeOfCall has this format Sat 04, 2013 14:28. How do I run my query to check between two times (09:00 and 10:00 for example) but only if the date is current? I don't want to split my date and time if I can help it.

I'm really struggling with this. All I need is a query that pulls in Calls per Consultant and I'm struggling with the syntax.

Every day, at about 10:15, I need it to run a query, checking all Calls made by Consultants between 9:00 and 10:00. The grouping by Consultant etc is easy but I can figure out how to get the Calls between the two times if my Call.TimeOfCall format is Sat 04, 2013 14:28.

Basically, my boss wants to track how many calls they make in this hour.

This should be so easy but it's really tripping me up! And we're going to need similar things in the future, so i just need to figure out the one so that I can do the future ones.

FIND Call WHERE DATE_PART(Call.TimeOfCall)=DATE_PART(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP) AND HOUR(Call.TimeOfCall)>=9 AND HOUR(Call.TimeOfCall)<=10
