setAttributeValue()

Hi all,

I'd like to get some advice on IEntity.setAttributeValue() method.
I want to set value using above method in my custom process.

I have Customer object with columns of "Name" and "Height".
The "Height" field is Number type with format of "#,##0.00"

To simplify the matter, let's assume that customer is the instance of Customer.What I tried in my process is this.

Double height = 180.05;
System.out.println("Before height = " + height);
customer.setAttributeValue("Height", height);

System.out.println("After height = " + customer.getAttributeValue("Height");

Before height = 180.05
After height = 180.05

After this when I check database, the height value is not populated though the log represents exactly what I expect.

What did I do wrong?

Hi Brian,

After setting the attribute values, did you execute either
createEntityFromTemplate which is used to create a new Customer
or
updateEntity which is used to update an existing Customer?

These methods tell AwareIM to actually update the database.

I thought setting an attribute would lead to the persistence layer.
Now I find that subsequent methods exists to do the things I want.
