Hi Support,
I would like to suggest that you enhance the configurator to allow people to compare elements (like business objects): i.e. allow the forms to coexist alongside each other, interactively.
I think that this would accelerate the learning curve, dramatically. I find it quite hard to remember - a few layers deep into an object - exactly what options were selected in another object I am modelling some elements of the current business object on.
Once people are familiar with the application and have a mental map of how everything fits together, this isn't necessary, but as a novice - who hasn't quite got their heads around where everything is and the terminology and richness of depth and configurability, it would make it a lot easier (say, to replicate some configuration elements in a sample solution into my solution).
Assuming that there isn't a way of doing it (please tell me if there is!), have you considered this - and would you consider it? I think that it might be difficult, for people that are familiar with Aware IM to (or who built it!) to appreciate how difficult it is remember all the details of a form a few layers deep into the model.
I have 3 methods so far:
- Duplicate elements and build the copies form there - helps in some scenarios.
- Use the navigator to identify the element, so that you don't have to drill down many layers.
- Screenshots sized equally so that you can compare in detail....
What do you reckon?
