any way for synched master and detail queries?

Is there any way to place a master query and detail query on a visual perspective tab, such that when a particular master query record is clicked on in the list, the detail query is constrained by that master record?

I know I could try this below, but it's kind of a hack:

Example w/ Project and ProjectResources

Setting a default operation (runs when clicked) for the master query that runs a process. All that process does is set LoggedInSystemUser.Project=Project (acts like a variable)

For the detail query, set a custom filter on ProjectResource.Project=LoggedSystemUser.Project

For lack of an "eventlistener", refresh the detail query every x seconds

I do not like this hack, so I guess my question still stands 🙂

You are close. In the second query you can use an auto refresh triggered by the process.

So, how to trigger the detail auto-refresh on the first row in the header query when rendered? I.E. When no header has been clicked on yet.

Yo would have to know the first row, and then set the "variable" based in that row.

You could use a process that find the value of the first item in the master list using TAKE BEST 1 and use that as the initial filter.
