I need to alert users that items defined in a workflow need attention. Email is great, but looking for an additional way. I am thinking that within a process that triggers notification to send an email as the first rule, I would also create an instance in a communications log associated with both the sender user, and the recipient user.
Users can then mark a log entry state as "read", etc.
When a user logs in, would there be any way to display some sort of alert message, that the user has items in that log that are in the "unread" state?
