This is a great idea......if there is a need for a feature, publish the need in the forum to find interested parties to pitch in.
After the project has been completed, any further users down the road can click on the "Buy Me a Beer" ( donation button) to the parties that made the pitch in.
This can be done using a Donation button of Paypal.
For this to work properly, one would have to create and host an application that can accept the Beer donations and then automatically redirect the "Beers" to the original party members of the pitch-In, who would have signed on to be a Beer Drinker and accept the donation split (I don't think Paypal support more than one distribution account)
Also, the application could serve as a platform to describe the project in detail and manage the process. It could also serve as a dynamic think tank - imagine all the beer drinking that could take place
For this to take place someone needs to be the custodian of the paypal account and also a separate section in the Forum called "For Beer Drinkers" This section of the forum could publish the feature projects with the relevant donation button pointing to "The Beer Drinkers Website" and also further showcase AwareIM to new comers
Does this make sense or have I had to many beers ?
If it does, any volunteers out there that have the time to create and manage this site
