Tag to display BS version?

Hi all,
Is there a tag/function i can use to display the version of my business space? I am trying to create a custom status bar (html) and want to display the version there automatically so i don´t have to manually update the version number after each update.

Thanks Codrin, i am trying the tag but it doesn´t work. I read another post about this tag describing it was used for runtime build applications.

Support, is this tag only an option when used with a runtime build application?

The tag works , but the value for it is set when generating a runtime version.

Support, is it possible to work around this in any way or possible create a custom tag/function that does the same thing but looks up the version number when running standard Aware IM server applications (i.e not running runtime build applications)

You can change the Version tag inside the bas.pvi file in your bin directory

Ok, it is possible then but that is a more advanced customization i understand 🙂. I will try to see if i can grasp it (still a newbie). Is this customization documented anywhere?

Hi Codrin,

That is the Aware Version, not the BS Version. Also, painful having to edit that every time you publish a new version.

I want the CURRENT BS Version number displayed in the Status Bar like...

Version - 4.1

and want it to be totally automatic based on the setting of a checkbox, much like the Turn off "Powered by" message and directly below it.

Indicative cost of this added feature from Aware is about $300 AUD.

I am up for $100.

Anyone else interested in this feature, please advise privately. If we get more than $300 the can divvy up evenly to reduce individual cost.

Hi Mark,
I wonder regarding the custom development you mention, is this adding a checkmark option to display the BS version in the statusbar? Is this the only option or can the new option also be used to display the BS version through a tag expression (e.g in a html cell).
If this new option supports the tag functionality i am up for the 100AUD.

Have got response back.

Will be easier for Aware to do it as a function and then you could use this function inside a tag <<BSV_VERSION()>>

Cheaper too.

Only 200 AUD.
