Someway for a developer to know that an email was not sent. presently it goes into the folder UNSENT_EMAIL but to the user it has been sent successfully.

How would you like a solution to know if the user received and opened the email ?

I have a solution developed for a marketing module that lets me send an email in AIM and when the recipient receives and opens the email a return connection is made with your AIM server updating your outgoing Email object with the status of "Delivered" or "Opened"

This way you can absolutely guarantee email delivery and implement further workflow rules activating other processes based on the result

If you are interested PM me, unfortunately on this one there there will be a cost as I m trying to recover the development costs.

Would you be willing to share here on the forums conceptually how you accomplished the "delivered" and "opened" trigger?

Thanks ACDC but I think AwareIM should still provide a mechansim for knowing that an email has been sent. Users should know immediately if there is an issue with AwareIM email. Although your facility is great and eventually would provide the result required as I see it there would be a delay in notifying the user? To me if a user hits send on an email we as developers should know immediatley if for whatever reason the email ends up in the UNSENT folder. Or do you have that covered as well?

Yes but that is not the issue. Emails can be held up for days in the unsent folder due to connection issues. Maybe the admin has even changed the email settings incorrectly for example. Everyone believes that they are being sent immediately. So to me knowing straight away that an email has been delayed within AwareIm for whatever purpose is paramount.

Conceptually, this really should not be a hard issue to address while configuring a BSV if we had a function to determine the number of files in a folder.

In theory, we could use some form of this right now, but it would be a bit clunky:

CREATE UnsentEmail FOR EACH FILE IN ’c:/unsent_email_directory_path’
