The footer is as you probably know the lower area of an application that can be turned on/off in the configuration tool. When it comes to this area, you basically have the same options as with the banner area. You can add static html, a html file etc. and the html can display a design and also different Aware IM functions e.g. "logged in user" etc.
I don´t know that much more about this option and i am currently trying out different things to see how it works. Ideally i would like to be able to customize the status bar in Aware IM applications but this is not an option for the time being and therefore i am trying out the footer area to see if i can use the area as a kind of status bar with copyright info, logged in user, a couple of links and a possible a search field.
