Import csv Local Machine

I have a Process that imports a CSV file which is essentially PO Lines of a PO.

Each user can set the path of where their files will be, such as C:\MYPO

On the PO screen there is an Import Lines button.
The process check that a file in the form xxxxxx.csv (where xxxxxx is the PO Number) in the Users file path location and if it is then it will import it.

Problem is.....it only works if the file is in C:\MYPO on the server rather than on the Users local machine.

Can anyone suggest how I can fix this please.

You have to use an object with an attribute of the Document type. Then use this attribute to upload a file.

I would have thought this would be fairly easy to implement as part of the standard awareIM package. When we select Import from a menu item, we get the option to specify the BO to import to and then are prompted for a file to upload from our local machine

Wy can't the Import File command be parameterised in such a way that if no file name was specified, the local file upload window was presented to the user.

This feature would be really, really, really REALLY useful.

We would still need to be able to specify the BO to import as part of the function into to avoid user errors.

Something like IMPORT_INTO(BOname) then have the user prompted for a locally held csv file

I agree Rocketman, that a feature like this would be really helpful, but can't think of any browser based server system/program that operates this way.

For one application that I built, files to be imported in an AwareIM system were FTP'd over to the server where the server could automatically import them.
