This one for the AwareIM development team I guess.
It seems clear to me that Microsoft are driving their Office suite down the subscription based Cloud hosted model (Office 365) That leaves me wondering how long we will be able to purchase server licensed versions for which of course we need to be able to generate Word Documents "on the fly" from within our AwareIm apps.
If they follow the Adobe Creative suite model, then the full program's will reside on the local machine and provided the annual fees are paid, there shouldn't be a problem. When you cancel a subscription, the program suite just gets switched off.
If however the office suite is cloud based and the apps then run in a browser, that might cause us some headaches.
Does anyone have any more info on how Office365 works and whether it will impact on AwareIM?
