Center Aligned Application

Maybe someone can provide a tip on how to do this:

we want a fixed 1000 pixel wide application
similar to a newspaper design, we want the application NOT to be left aligned on the screen but centre aligned (with white space on either side)
we want all the menu and content to be contained within this 1000 px space
we do NOT want to contain the application within an iFrame (from our experience this causes other problems with reloading frames, https certs and the need to have cookies enabled)
we have started to play around with not using the standard aware toolbars but our own navigation system (using CSS and Aware Operations) and this works
but we can't get queries to centre align in the middle of the screen
is there anyway to get a Visual Perspective to always centre align?

Any suggestions welcome!

Have you tried setting up VP tab margins?

Administrator VP>Frame:Main>Tab>click 'Other' button

Set margin left (px): 200
Set margin right (px): 200

Query in the middle with 200px margin on both ends.

Aware doesn't allow for value: auto which should place the query results in dead centre of that tab.
