Bar Chart - Horizontal

RLJB

Support - we would dearly love a horizontal bar chart please. Thanks.

RLJB

ie where the "bars" run horizontally (currently in Aware we can only have them running vertically)

Like this: http://cdn.sencha.com/ext-4.1.1a-gpl/examples/charts/Bar.html

Can you use fusion charts for the moment?

RLJB

Yes - we are using Fusion for these charts currently, but we need to do about 20 more charts and having done both Aware charts and Fusion - I think the aware ones take about 1/10th of the time to do.

Agree with you on that one!

ACDC

Yes, I would love to get this chart, this chart is definitely needed when long descriptions are used

Also in the Pie chart , an option to place each X axis description inside each section of the pie would also be good, this reduces the amount of space used to present the chart

Ok this was interesting:

I went to do a "Stacked Bar" chart today and it IS horizontal - so you CAN do horizontal charts (if you don't want it stacked then just do 1 row in the table).

However their are severe limitations (maybe bugs) on this chart:

you can NOT have text as the Y axis (it must be a number), so for example you can't have the months as a name, as in this example: http://cdn.sencha.com/ext-4.1.1a-gpl/examples/charts/Bar.html (I think this might be a bug? surely you should be able to have text here)
in the table you can not mix different types of charts, a common use would be to have a bar (stacked or not) and then a vertical line (representing a target for example). You CAN select a "Chart Type" in the table as being a line BUT it doesn't do anything, it still comes out as a stacked bar
you can't seem to use {SeriesName} in the tip message, as it just doesn't show - given the type of chart (eg stacks) it is important to have the tips work so the mouse over displays what stack it relates to

This also means there is no Stacked Column chart available in Aware - it would be nice to have this feature.

As a side point I think the way Aware labels these charts is confusing:

What Aware calls a "Bar" chart is typically called a column chart (ie the bars are vertical like columns) eg http://cdn.sencha.com/ext-4.1.1a-gpl/examples/charts/Column.html

Rod .. this was fixed in build 1644. Work well now!
