Advice from Firefox experts please

Following some comments from my users I bit the bullet and downloaded and installed Firefox 18.

I have a process at login that records each users login and gives me the total logins for each user during the day.

here are some figures and I was wondering whether any Firefox aficionados could enlighten me on what the heck is going on and how I can speed it (Firefox) up.

PC
Firefox 11-15 seconds
Chrome 3-5 seconds
Safari 3-5 seconds

Mac
Firefox doesn't work
Safari - 3 seconds

iPad 2
Safari 2-3 seconds

iPad4 - sorry - I blinked

iPhone 4s
Safari - 8 seconds

When looking at my total login attempts Firefox seems to fire multiple attempts into the log over the above login period (between 6 and 11 attempts recoded. Chrome and Safari show just 1 on all platforms which I would expect

All the above tests were carried out on the same wi-fi connection to the internet. Server is a cloud hosted server

FYI, login from FireFox works on Mac. We still have to changes two things as explained here :

Firefox for Mac appears to be a bit buggy still and it does not seem to recognize the compressed version of our Javascript file. As a workaround you can do the following:

1) Rename the file AwareIM.app/Contents/Resources/Java/Tomcat/webapps/AwareIM/aware_ext/aware.js to aware_min.js
2) Rename the file AwareIM.app/Contents/Resources/Java/Tomcat/webapps/AwareIM/aware_ext/aware_full.js to aware.js
3) Refresh the browser

Aware IM Support Team"

...and unfortunately we have to do it at each new AwareIM update.
