Question About Context

As a newb I have a question regarding context that I am hoping someone can clarify for me please.

Imagine as an example I have a BO called Test which has 2 attributes,

MyName
MyNumber

and the data for this BO.MyName is as follows...

MyName
abcd
defg
hijk

Now assume I have a rule for this BO as follows....

FIND Test WHERE Test.MyName CONTAINS 'd'
Test.MyNumber = 1

I would have expected that if I add a new record where MyName = lmno
that I would end up with..

MyName MyNumber
abcd 1
defg 1
hijk
lmno

Or if I edited say, the hijk record I also would end up with

MyName MyNumber
abcd 1
defg 1
hijk
lmno

However, if I add the lmno record I end up with
MyName MyNumber

abcd 1
defg 1
hijk
lmno 1

and if I edit the hijk record I end up with

MyName MyNumber
abcd 1
defg 1
hijk 1
lmno

Aware seems to apply the assignment to any record that meets the WHERE criteria AS well and the record being added/edit regardless of whether that record CONTAINS 'd'

Can someone explain this for me please. Just not seem logical but an sure I must be thinking about it incorrectly.

The problem is your rule on the BO. When you change a record the rule is fired off and it find those instances which have a 'D' in them. If it finds just one then it will change that one PLUS the record that you are adding or editing as it is in context as well.

Your rule on the BO should be something like

IF Test.MyName CONTAINS 'd' THEN
Test.MyNumber = 1

This rule as it does not have a find in it will only change the instance in context.
